How we select hotels

Loggiata is an independent guide. Hotels do not pay to appear, there is no membership and no sponsored ranking.

Selection criteria

• International renown: how widely the hotel is documented across encyclopedias in many languages.
• Heritage and architecture: listed buildings, named architects, historic significance.
• Level of service: palace, five-star or equivalent luxury standard, confirmed on the official website.
• The hotel must currently operate and welcome guests.

Sources

Facts come from open data published by Wikidata and from each hotel’s official website. Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons and are credited with their author and licence until the hotel provides its own.

Editorial rules

Every description is written by our editors from documented facts. We never reproduce text from hotel brochures, booking platforms or other guides. Each page shows the date its facts were last checked.
