Hôtel Alfred Sommier can host board meetings, seminars, cocktails and private receptions for 9 to 180 guests. The venue is a hotel of 80 rooms set in a listed hôtel particulier at 20 rue de l'Arcade, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, between the Madeleine and Saint-Lazare.
Seminars and company events
Business events are handled by a dedicated events team. Meetings use a set of historic salons and smaller rooms, most of them opening onto the private garden or the courtyard of honour. The Salon des Archives, a daylit half-level room for up to 55 people, suits general meetings and cocktails. The Salon Doré takes up to 40 under a ceiling close to 4 metres high. For committees and executive sessions, the Bureau d'Alfred, the Salon Carré, the Boudoir and the Petit Salon take 9 to 30 people. Rooms and suites with views towards the Eiffel Tower and Montmartre are also offered for photo shoots, product showcases and fashion presentations.
Weddings and receptions
For larger gatherings, the hotel combines the restaurant Les Caryatides, the Smoking Bar, the garden and the salons, for receptions of up to 180 guests. The garden and its terraces can be hired on their own for up to 150 people, and the paved courtyard of honour, set back from the street, takes up to 100. The salons are also offered for weddings and private parties.
Rooms and capacities
Nine spaces are listed. Three of them are protected rooms with their original decor: the Salon Doré in Louis XV style, the Salon Carré in Louis XVI style with a fireplace and family tapestries, and the Bureau d'Alfred, the former office of Alfred Sommier, with Italian-inspired panelling that opens fully onto the garden. The Rooftop Paname, 60 m² spread over several platforms, holds up to 19 people with views over the monuments of Paris. The hotel supplies an events brochure and a floor plan.
Accommodation
The 80 rooms and suites, including signature suites and connecting rooms, allow speakers and participants to stay on site during a two-day meeting. Suites can also be privatised for small receptions.
Catering
Food and drink come from the hotel's own outlets: the restaurant Les Caryatides, the bar and the garden service. Menus for meetings and receptions are set with the events team.
History and setting
The building is one of two twin cut-stone mansions designed by the architect Joseph-Michel Le Soufaché for the Sommier family, sugar refiners who settled in Paris in the early 19th century. Alfred Sommier, born in 1835, took over the business at 18 and lived at number 20. Several reception rooms are protected as historic monuments, and the hotel opened in 2018 at the initiative of a descendant of the family.
Getting there
The hotel stands on rue de l'Arcade, a short walk from Saint-Lazare station, served by suburban trains, the RER E and several metro lines, and from the Madeleine. Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports are reached by RER or taxi.
