Seminars, conferences, gala dinners and cocktails for groups of 30 to 250 guests can be held in hired rooms of the Château royal de Blois, the former royal residence that stands above the Loire in the centre of Blois. Room hire is not managed by the museum team but by Blois Congrès, the city's business events service, which has handled venue rental in Blois since January 2020.
Seminars and company events
Blois Congrès offers the château for seminars, conferences, meetings, trade shows, exhibitions and gala evenings. The rooms used for meetings sit on the first floor, in what the city calls the Renaissance setting, and a lift serves that level. Groups can combine a working day with a visit of the château and, outside show days and times, a private screening of the sound and light show projected on the courtyard façades. The monument stays open to the public, so access times and routes are best agreed with the service when booking.
Rooms and capacities
The château offers modular spaces on two levels. On the ground floor, two vaulted rooms of 70 to 220 m² take up to 250 guests for a dinner or a standing cocktail. On the first floor, rooms of 90 to 220 m² host meetings and gala dinners. The city lists five named rooms: the Salle des Conférences (220 m², up to 200 guests), the Salle Gaston-d'Orléans (220 m², up to 200), the Salle Korevo (160 m², up to 120), the Salle Lesueur (100 m², up to 80) and the Rotonde (95 m², up to 50). The interiors are furnished, which limits heavy set-ups, and the layout of each room is set with the Blois Congrès team.
Accommodation
There are no bedrooms at the château. Delegates stay in hotels in Blois, and the Office de Tourisme Blois-Chambord provides information on accommodation and restaurants for groups.
Catering
The city's pages do not name an in-house caterer for events. Catering for dinners and cocktails is arranged through Blois Congrès when the booking is made. For daytime groups, a seasonal restaurant serves visitors on the château site.
History and setting
The château has been classified as a historic monument since 1845 and lies within the Loire Valley World Heritage area. Its wings span several periods of French architecture, from the medieval hall to the Renaissance wing and its open spiral staircase, then the classical wing built for Gaston d'Orléans. Several French kings lived here. For a group, an event day can open with a guided tour of the royal apartments before the working sessions.
Getting there
The château stands in the centre of Blois, a short walk from Blois-Chambord station, which has direct trains from Paris. The château publishes drop-off and parking areas for coaches. Chambord and Cheverny are a short drive away for a programme that combines several Loire châteaux.
