Seminars, company anniversaries, leaving parties, business meals, cocktails and weddings are organised here all year, in a reception hall that is heated through the winter and on an estate that a wedding party can take over for five days. The Château de Bienassis stands at Erquy, on the north coast of Brittany in the Côtes-d'Armor, between farmland and the sea.
Seminars and company events
The estate takes seminars and a range of company occasions: anniversaries, leaving parties, business lunches and dinners, staff parties and cocktail receptions. Spaces are arranged to fit each project, and the events team asks organisers to describe their programme through the contact form so it can advise on the layout. A seminar brochure is linked from the official events page. Private celebrations such as birthdays are also accepted.
Weddings and receptions
For a wedding the whole estate is hired exclusively for five days, with a programme built around the couple. That leaves time for a welcome evening, the ceremony and the reception, and a gathering the following day, without sharing the grounds with anyone else. A wedding brochure is available from the château.
Rooms and capacities
The main event room is a large hall in the former stables, fully renovated in 2024. It keeps its exposed stone walls and oak beams and is heated, so it can be used in every season. Outside, organisers can use the courtyard of honour, the French-style garden and the kitchen garden for a cocktail, photographs or an outdoor moment. The château does not publish seated or standing capacities on its website, so ask the events team for the figure that matches your layout.
Accommodation
The Maison de Tante Ghislaine, a renovated outbuilding inside the grounds, can be hired for events on quotation. It covers 140 m² with four bedrooms, three bathrooms and five beds for seven guests, and has a large enclosed garden at the back where children can play. Larger groups will need hotels or rentals in Erquy and along the coast.
Catering
The website does not set out a catering policy. Ask the events team which caterers work on site and what kitchen facilities come with the hall.
History and setting
A feudal motte stood here in the 12th century, and the first stone building still visible dates from the 15th century. A crenellated wall and a moat that still holds water surround the château, whose Renaissance façade is built in the pink sandstone of Erquy. Several families held the estate before the de Kerjégu family, who have lived here for more than a century. The château has been a classified historic monument since 1945, with extensions in 2012 and 2013. The estate covers more than 60 hectares of woodland park, formal garden and kitchen garden. Guided visits take in the main staircase, the grand salon, the guard room, the medieval kitchens, the 18th-century dining room and the rampart chapel, and a sound and light show is staged every other summer.
Getting there
The château lies on the edge of Erquy, a seaside town on the Côtes-d'Armor coast. The nearest mainline stations are Lamballe and Saint-Brieuc, on the Paris to Brest line, with the final stretch by road.
