The Château de Bazoches hosts weddings, receptions, seminars and group dinners for up to 60 seated in its gallery, with a 280 m² reception greenhouse in the gardens and the option of privatising the whole estate for a larger event. The château stands on a hill at Bazoches, on the edge of the Morvan, about 10 km from Vézelay in the Nièvre.
Seminars and company events
The reception greenhouse, set in the gardens with a view of the château, is offered for seminars, exhibitions and receptions. The gallery takes lunches and dinners for groups of up to 60 people; dinners can be booked every day of the year from 18:30, and lunches on request. A guided tour of the château can be added to a group programme. For prestige events, the whole site can be hired.
Weddings and receptions
Weddings use the greenhouse, the inner courtyard and the gardens, which look over the surrounding countryside. The château is lit in the evening for hired events. Events run until midnight, and later hours are arranged as an extra.
Rooms and capacities
Two indoor spaces are offered. The Serre de réception covers 280 m²; the château does not publish a seated or standing capacity for it. La Galerie seats groups of up to 60 for meals and comes with Napoleon III style tables and chairs, heating in the cold season and a fully equipped kitchen and office for caterers. An estate manager is present during the hire. Outdoors, the inner courtyard and the gardens can be used for drinks and photographs. The car park holds 94 cars and 6 coaches, which suits a group arriving by bus.
Catering
There is no in-house catering. The château works with a selection of approved caterers and restaurateurs, who use the kitchen next to the gallery. Meals and drinks are contracted separately from the hire of the rooms.
History and setting
The fortress dates from the 12th century and was later turned into a family residence and a strategic centre. Its lasting figure is Vauban, the military engineer of Louis XIV, whose residence can be visited, and the inner courtyard was restored to his plans. The château is a listed historic monument and carries the Maison des Illustres label. It has served as a film location since Cartouche in 1962 and came eighth in France 2's Monument préféré des Français in 2015. The rooms open to visitors keep their furniture and works of art.
