The Château de Chazeron receives weddings, banquets, seminars and cocktails for 30 to 300 guests seated at tables, in four halls of 60 to 380 places, and states a capacity of up to 1,000 guests standing across the site. The castle stands at Loubeyrat, in the Puy-de-Dôme, within the Volcans d'Auvergne regional park and overlooking the Limagne plain.
Seminars and company events
Seminars and company receptions use the same halls as private events. The Salle des Tapisseries, 90 square metres for 60 people, suits a working session or a committee dinner, while La Grande Salle, 400 square metres for 300, takes a plenary or a gala. The venue is on one level with step-free access for people with reduced mobility. Groups can add a guided visit of the Romanesque keep and its staircase, or a treasure hunt in the castle, as a break in the programme.
Weddings and receptions
Weddings and banquets are the château's main events. Evenings are lit with candelabra and candles, and fires burn in the fireplaces. The Ancienne Bergerie, set apart from the castle within the walls of the former village enclosure, gives a simpler, convivial setting for a party.
Rooms and capacities
Four halls are offered. The Salle des Tapisseries measures 90 square metres and takes 60 guests. The Ancienne Bergerie measures 160 square metres and takes 130. La Grande Salle measures 400 square metres and takes 300. The Salons du XIIe siècle take 380. The central halls keep a medieval character, while the north and south wings date from the 17th century. The château also gives a maximum of 450 seated and 1,000 standing for the whole site, figures to confirm when booking.
Catering
The château's hire page mentions the Auberge du Château Chazeron but does not say whether catering is in-house or whether couples and companies bring their own caterer. This point is settled with the château when the date is reserved, together with the terms of sale and house rules.
History and setting
Chazeron grew from a medieval fortress whose Romanesque keep still stands. In the 17th century the castle was turned into a residence, with new north and south wings, and the Marquis de Chazeron is said to have called on Jules Hardouin-Mansart for the work. In 1940 the castle served as a place of detention for political figures of the Third Republic, including Édouard Daladier and Léon Blum. It has been a classified historic monument since 1944. Today it hosts guided visits, a summer medieval festival and shows, and a bar, the Bloom Bar.
