Meetings, study days, seminars, conferences, product launches, company evenings, galas and weddings for 3 to 500 participants can be organised at the Château de Flaugergues, a short way from the centre of Montpellier. Spaces range from a 44 m² meeting room to a terrace taking 750 standing. The 17th-century folly is a listed historic monument with a Jardin Remarquable park and a vineyard.
Seminars and company events
Four rooms serve working sessions. Les Baumelles, 144 m² and the only air-conditioned room, takes 170 theatre-style, 120 at round tables and 250 standing. Champ Louis and Champ Bouchard, around 50 m² each, take 30 to 35 theatre-style, and the Salle haute, 75 m², takes 50. Hire includes the furniture, a 75-inch smart screen, Wi-Fi, a projector and screen, Bluetooth speakers, three wireless microphones, lighting and heating, a reception desk, a cloakroom and 200 free parking spaces. Staging, a lapel microphone, a photo booth, music, hostesses, security and marquees are quoted separately. Team building includes an escape game, a murder party, wine tastings and visits of the estate. Annual general meetings and exhibitions are also held here.
Weddings and receptions
For a wedding the estate is hired in full: the botanical park, the bamboo grove, the olive avenue, the French garden, the château terrace, the cour du mas and three reception rooms in the courtyard. Ceremonies and drinks take place in the park. Couples may choose their own suppliers, with advice from the team, and the estate's wines can be served at dinner. Visits of the estate are by appointment.
Rooms and capacities
Outside, the cour du mas, 600 m², seats 350 and takes 500 standing. The château terrace, 700 m², seats 500 and takes 750 standing. The Orangerie park, 2 hectares, seats 100 and takes 350 standing. The bamboo grove, 70 m², seats 45. A 350 m² tent seats 300 and takes 600 standing. An annex has four toilets, one of them accessible, a cloakroom and a kitchen with an oven, a fridge and a freezer for caterers.
Catering
The estate's restaurant, Folia, and the caterer Cabiron both offer cocktails and seated meals. Folia serves lunch on weekdays and is often full, so groups book ahead. For weddings, a kitchen team of cooks and pastry chefs writes menus to order, and the wine shop supplies the estate's wines.
History and setting
Flaugergues is a folly, the name given to the country houses built around Montpellier in the 17th century. The estate dates its wine heritage to 1696 and marks its 330th year in 2026. Henri de Colbert founded the Art Flau association some 30 years ago to open the house to visitors and to the people of Montpellier. The 4-hectare park holds the gardens, and the estate carries the Vignobles et Découvertes and Demeure Historique labels. The gardens are accessible to wheelchair users; the interior of the château is not yet adapted, and the Salle haute is not accessible.
Getting there
The château is at 1744 avenue Albert Einstein, 34000 Montpellier, close to the city centre, with 200 free parking spaces on site.
