The Château de Keriolet hosts weddings, banquets, professional cocktails, assemblies and works council meals for up to 130 seated guests, or up to 200 when part of the party sits in the adjoining marquee. The château stands in a one-hectare park at the entrance to Concarneau, in southern Finistère.
Seminars and company events
Company bookings cover professional cocktails, banquets, general assemblies and works council meals. The rooms are hired together with the park, and a venue contact stays on site for the whole event. All rooms, the cloakroom and the toilets are on one level, with no steps, which helps for guests with reduced mobility. Visits before booking can be arranged to suit the organiser's diary, including at weekends.
Weddings and receptions
Weddings are the main use of the château. The Salle des Gardes receives guests for the welcome and the reception, and the Princess's reception room hosts the dinner. A smaller Salle d'Armes, connected to the main room, lets 10 to 12 children eat together close to their parents. The rooms are available until 3 a.m. as standard, later by agreement with the château's representative, and a brunch the day after can be arranged outside the summer season. Rooms and park can be decorated to the couple's taste.
Rooms and capacities
The Salle de réception de la Princesse measures 120 m² and seats up to 130 under stained glass and wood panelling, with a large granite fireplace. A marquee in the style of the château joins it through a carved wooden door, so guests never have to step outside; with it, the venue takes up to 200 people. Standard hire covers up to 140 guests, and larger groups are quoted separately. On fine days, the caterer can set up on the lawn in front of the south facade. Parking is available inside the park.
Accommodation
There are no bedrooms at the château. Three nearby properties run by independent owners take guests: Le petit manoir de Kériolet, the Gîte de Kerambriec and La grange du Minuellou.
Catering
Catering is not provided by the château. Organisers choose their caterer, and the château supplies a list of caterers who work there regularly. They can work from the marquee or from the lawn.
History and setting
Keriolet began as a 13th-century Breton manor house. At the end of the 19th century, the Russian imperial princess Zénaïde Narischkine Youssoupoff turned it into a château for her young husband, in the Gothic Revival style still visible today. Heritage records name the architect Joseph Bigot and date the works to 1883, and the building is listed as a historic monument. The park around it is calm and enclosed, and the facades, carved stonework and stained glass give the reception rooms their character.
Getting there
The château is signposted from the entrance to Concarneau. Quimper, with TGV services from Paris, is the nearest main station, and Quimper-Bretagne airport is the nearest airport.
