The Château de la Bourdaisière takes seated dinners of up to 180 guests in its orangery, smaller dinners of 40 in a vaulted room, and up to 38 overnight guests when the estate is hired as a whole. It suits a company seminar with nights on site, a family celebration or a wedding. The château stands above the Loire at Montlouis-sur-Loire, between Tours and Amboise.
Seminars and company events
Seminars and corporate receptions are quoted per project. A company can also take the entire estate on a total privatisation, the format that brings meeting space, meals and bedrooms together in one place. In high season the estate asks for a minimum of two or three nights for a full hire. Each privatisation comes with a project manager, a housekeeper, the head gardener and two oenologists, which makes it easy to build a tasting of the estate's wines or a walk through the gardens into the programme. Daytime receptions of up to 180 guests are also possible without overnight stays.
Weddings and receptions
The estate hosts 35 to 40 weddings a season and selects them. Civil, religious or secular ceremonies take place in the gardens or in the main courtyard, with drinks in the Cour d'honneur and dinner in the orangery. Each couple works with a dedicated project manager. Dancing is allowed until 2 a.m.
Rooms and capacities
The 19th-century Orangerie seats up to 180 guests for a banquet and is the main room for dinners, receptions and plenary sessions. The 15th-century Salle des voûtes takes intimate dinners of up to 40. The Cour d'honneur is used for drinks receptions and outdoor ceremonies, and the Renaissance gardens for secular ceremonies and photographs. No capacities are published for the outdoor spaces.
Accommodation
Up to 38 guests can sleep on site, split between suites in the château and cottages in the former orangery buildings. The estate does not publish the number of bedrooms, so the room plan should be requested with the quote.
Catering
The estate has its own production kitchen. Outside caterers work alongside the estate's staff under a charter set by the château. The wines come from the estate's own vineyard in the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation, and guests can visit the cellar.
History and setting
The château dates from 1520 and has been a listed historic monument since 1954. It was bought in a neglected state in 1992 and restored. Its Renaissance gardens received the Jardin Remarquable label in 2018, and the estate is home to the Conservatoire National de la Tomate, founded in 1996 with 60 varieties and now holding 712 cultivars on 2 hectares. The 14-hectare vineyard has been certified organic since 2011 and biodynamic since 2019. An orchard and a pool area are used for brunches. A team of 27 people runs the estate, including four permanent gardeners and two oenologists.
