Château de La Caze takes small seminars and business meetings in a private room for 2 to 30 people, group lunches and dinners, and weddings with exclusive use of the estate. Sixteen bedrooms and suites let a board, a management team or a wedding party stay on site. The château stands on the bank of the Tarn in the Gorges du Tarn, at La Caze near Sainte-Énimie in Lozère.
Seminars and company events
The meeting room comes with a projector, a screen, a paperboard, notepads, pens, bottled water and Wi-Fi. It suits a strategy day, a board meeting or a retreat for a small team that wants distance from the office. With meals in the restaurant and bedrooms in the château and the Maison de Martine, a two-day residential format is simple to organise without moving the group.
Weddings and receptions
For a wedding the whole estate is reserved for the couple from the afternoon of the day until noon the next day. The wooded park, the garden, the terrace, the heated pool and the jacuzzi serve for the ceremony, the vin d'honneur and a brunch the following morning. The team offers tailored services: catering, set-up, decoration and coordination of the other suppliers. The site does not state a guest capacity for weddings, so give your numbers early.
Accommodation
The château has seven rooms and three suites. The Maison de Martine, 40 metres away, holds six contemporary suites, for 16 in all. Three suites are on the ground floor and one is accessible to guests with reduced mobility. Guests also have a lounge bar, an outdoor fitness area, a massage room and a private beach on the Tarn.
Catering
The semi-gastronomic restaurant is inside the château, with a Gothic fireplace and a terrace. The kitchen works with Lozère produce such as river trout and Aubrac lamb, and serves both seminar meals and wedding receptions.
History and setting
François Alamand built the château in 1490 for his niece Soubeyrane. It has been a classified historical monument since 1936 and has served in turn as a family home, a holiday residence and a hotel. It lies between the Causse Méjean and the Causse de Sauveterre, in a stretch of the gorges where limestone cliffs drop to the river, and the site places it in the Grands Causses regional nature park. For a seminar, the river and the causses give room for an outdoor afternoon between working sessions.
Getting there
The château is 5 minutes from Sainte-Énimie and 10 minutes from La Malène. By road, Mende is one hour away, Rodez 1 h 30, Montpellier two hours and Clermont-Ferrand 2 h 30, with the A75 motorway 45 minutes away at exit 40, La Canourgue. The nearest station is Marvejols, 50 minutes away, and a shuttle links Marvejols, Mende and Millau when booked 48 hours ahead. Rodez airport is 100 km away. The château also has a helipad and private parking.
