Seminars and company events
Château de Moncley receives company seminars, conferences, press events, seated dinners, concerts and film or advertising shoots, as well as weddings, with catering for up to 300 guests. The château stands in the village of Moncley, in the Doubs, 17 km from the centre of Besançon and 8 km from Besançon Franche-Comté TGV station.
For a board meeting or a small seminar, the ground floor offers several connected rooms of different sizes, from the 40 m² Louis XIV salon to the 104 m² rotunda. A meeting can be followed by a dinner prepared by the château's chef and a night in one of the five bedrooms, which suits a leadership team of around ten.
Weddings and receptions
Weddings are the château's main activity. Ceremonies can take place in the private chapel or in the gardens, and the vestibule serves for the cocktail if it rains. The suite in the north wing is intended first for couples married at Moncley. The team can also arrange the DJ, photographer, videographer, decoration, hair and make-up.
Rooms and capacities
The rotunda salon, under its slate dome, covers 104 m² and seats 98 for dinner at round tables. The Louis XIV salon, which opens onto it, covers 40 m² and seats 24. The Louis XVI dining room covers 56 m² and seats 20. The vestibule covers 96 m² and the chapel 28 m². A neo-medieval kitchen of 68 m² can host a brunch, and a modern professional kitchen of 24 m² is set aside for the caterer.
Accommodation
The north wing, called La Thébaïde, holds four bedrooms and one suite, each for two people with a queen-size bed: the Chambre des arabesques, the Chambre des rotondes, the Chambre de l'architecte, the Chambre aux sanguines and the Suite du pigeonnier, also called the Suite Nuptiale. Breakfast is included.
Catering
The château's chef, Tim Sullivan, cooks with local produce and with fruit and vegetables from the estate's kitchen garden and orchard. He proposes menus for aperitifs, cocktails, seated lunches and seated dinners for up to 300 people. Hotel guests can book lunch or dinner in advance by phone.
History and setting
François-Félix-Bernard de Terrier-Santans commissioned the château from the Besançon architect Alexandre Bertrand, and building began in 1778. It was left partly unfinished at the Revolution, and rooms were added on the ground floor in the 1840s. The estate has stayed in the same family for some 240 years, and Liselotte Bordeaux-Groult has managed it since 2008. The château was classified in 1944, and the whole estate with its park in 2003. The house looks out over a French garden, an orchard and the meadows of the Ognon river.

The address is route de Moncley, 25170 Moncley. Besançon Franche-Comté TGV station is about ten minutes away by car, and the centre of Besançon about twenty minutes.
