Seminars, residential workshops, company events, weddings and cocktail receptions for up to 400 guests are organised at the Château de Pierreclos, in Pierreclos, 13 km from Mâcon in southern Burgundy. The château is a listed historic monument and a working wine estate, and it has hosted professional events for more than 30 years.
Seminars and company events
The château has two seminar rooms and two lounges, all with daylight, which can be arranged for events of up to 400. The largest room holds up to 148. A projector, a screen, fibre Wi-Fi and a paperboard are provided, and more equipment can be supplied. Wine tasting workshops are recommended for every group, and partner providers run olympiads, escape games and creative workshops. A dedicated contact handles company events, and a company brochure sets out the formats. Groups that stay overnight can use the heated pool in season.
Weddings and receptions
Ceremonies are held outdoors with a view over the hills and vineyards, and drinks are served on the terraces of the rocky spur on which the château stands. Reception rooms and lounges inside take the dinner, furniture is supplied, and the estate shop sells the château's wines. Guests can sleep on site, in the château and in a separate guest house. A wedding brochure is published each year.
Rooms and capacities
Inside, the two seminar rooms and two lounges are lit by natural light; the largest takes 148. Outside, the terraces overlooking the vineyards suit cocktails. The château also has a Romanesque chapel, a medieval kitchen and vaulted cellars, which are part of the estate's visits and its harvest festival.
Accommodation
Up to 35 people can stay overnight. The Maison d'Amis, a guest house suited to residential seminars, sleeps up to 18 in seven bedrooms, each with its own shower room, and connects to an apartment with two bedrooms and a shower room. A heated outdoor pool is open from May to October.
History and setting
The château stands in the vineyards of the Mâconnais and produces Mâcon, Saint-Véran, Pouilly-Fuissé, Pouilly-Fuissé Premier Cru and Bourgogne Pinot Noir. The poet Alphonse de Lamartine knew the house well: the château's guided visit follows his friendships, loves and grape harvests here, up to the writing of Jocelyn. The GR 76 footpath passes nearby, and the château holds the Accueil Vélo label.
