Board meetings, study days and residential team seminars for up to 20 people can be held at the Château de Pornic, a medieval fortress with a seaside residence built inside its walls, above the town and ria of Pornic on the Atlantic coast of Loire-Atlantique.
Seminars and company events
The château rents its ground-floor seminar space by the day or the half-day, Monday to Friday, from September to June. It suits management meetings, study days and team seminars. Hire includes Wi-Fi, a break buffet with coffee, drinks and small cakes, and access to the inner courtyard and the gardens. With bedrooms on site, a group can stay over and run a seminar across two or more days without leaving the château. Weddings and private receptions are not part of the published offer.
Rooms and capacities
The seminar area on the ground floor covers 68 m². The dining room, 25 m², is set up either as a boardroom table for 8 to 10 people or as a conference room for 20 seated, and has a television screen, a video projector, flip charts and Wi-Fi. The lounge, 30 m², gives space for breakout work or informal discussion, and a 13 m² reception area welcomes participants. In the warmer months the inner courtyard and the gardens can be used for working outdoors, and a Wi-Fi relay can be set up there on request.
Accommodation
The château has nine family rooms, each with its own bathroom, with sheets and towels provided. That is enough to house a full seminar group on site. A breakfast buffet with pastries, hot drinks and fruit juice can be added for residential groups.
Catering
The break buffet is included with the room. The château does not serve lunch or dinner itself, but about ten restaurants lie within a ten-minute walk in the town, which gives a group a choice for each meal.
History and setting
The château is a medieval fortress topped by a seaside residence built within its walls, a combination the owners describe as rare in France. It is listed as a historic monument and carries more than a thousand years of history. It once had a defensive role over the bay of Bourgneuf, and its story is tied to the rise of sea bathing for health at Pornic, which the town presents as one of its birthplaces. From the gardens there are views over the town, the ria and the ocean. Guided visits of the château run every day in July and August and at weekends and during school holidays the rest of the year, so a seminar group can also book a private tour.
Getting there
The address is 2 rue Fernand de Mun, 44210 Pornic. Pornic station, served by regional TER trains from Nantes, is about 15 minutes away on foot. Public parking is available on place de la Terrasse, directly opposite the château. Nantes Atlantique is the nearest airport.
