Seminars, company celebrations, weddings and cocktails for up to 500 guests standing or 300 seated can be held at the Parc Soubise, a seigneurial estate of 1,000 hectares at Mouchamps in Vendée. Two listed 17th-century buildings, the Grenier and the Cellier, are used for receptions, and four gîtes on the estate sleep 24.
Seminars and company events
The estate takes seminars, company anniversaries and staff parties. Recent corporate events have used several buildings at once: a company's 30th anniversary in June 2022 ran as a musical trail with bands in different parts of the site, and a winter evening in December 2021 set up six stages in the barn, the attic, the cellar, the stables, the chapel and among the trees. Groups can add a guided historical visit with the owner, fishing on the ponds or an outdoor escape game.
Weddings and receptions
Weddings, birthdays and family celebrations use the same halls. A garden cocktail can be served in the courtyard and entrance, and the site can be hired with a marquee for a larger outdoor event. The estate shares a list of caterers, florists and other suppliers.
Rooms and capacities
Le Grenier is a 300 m² hall on the first floor, under a roof frame shaped like an upturned ship's hull. It takes 500 guests for a standing cocktail or 300 for a seated dinner. Le Cellier is a vaulted 130 m² cellar on one level, for 200 standing or 150 seated. The courtyard and entrance serve for garden cocktails or a marquee.
Accommodation
Four gîtes, renovated in 2020 inside former estate buildings, sleep 24 in eight bedrooms. Gîte Rohan sleeps 10 in three bedrooms, with a ground-floor shower room adapted for guests with reduced mobility, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and an equipped kitchen. Gîte Saubonne and Gîte Parthenay l'Archevêque each sleep five in two bedrooms, and Gîte Bonfils sleeps four.
Catering
The estate does not cater events itself. Organisers bring their own caterer, and the estate can provide a list of caterers it knows.
History and setting
The estate includes two châteaux, a large forest and several ponds, and has belonged to the same family since the 18th century. On 28 January 1794, during the Vendée wars, about 200 people were killed in the park by the colonnes infernales, and the estate held a commemoration for the 230th anniversary in 2024. The owners also run guided visits in July and August, a theatre festival, heritage days and concerts, so event dates are best checked early.
Getting there
The estate lies in the Vendée bocage, 22 km from the Puy du Fou, which makes it a base for groups combining a seminar with a visit to the park. The nearest main railway station is La Roche-sur-Yon, and Nantes Atlantique is the nearest airport. A car or coach is needed for the last stretch.
